Mumbai: The special court here on Tuesday rejected the request submitted by former Minister of Maharashtra Anil Deshmukh looking for a default guarantee in the alleged money laundering case.
Deshmukh, a NCP leader, was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on November 2, 2021, and at this time in Judicial custody.
In its application, Deshmukh argues that a special court for the prevention of money laundering laws does not consume the accusation sheet submitted by ED before making it in further justice resistency.
Therefore, he has the right to guarantee with ‘default’ (on technical reasons), he said.
Ed opposed the request that said the accusation sheet was filed in the specified time.
Special judge R n Rokade rejected the request for NCP leaders.
