The Covid case fell slightly at TN, up 25 in Chennai

Chennai: For the second day, the state reported a decrease in the new Covid-19 case with the Ministry of Health who recorded 1,544 cases on Tuesday against 1,556 on Monday.
Chennai and 15 other districts, however, report a marginal increase in new cases.
Coimbatore, who reported the highest number of cases on Tuesday was the only district to report more than 200 cases.
The district reported 217 cases against 206 cases reported on Monday.
After Coimbatore, Chennai, who reported 194 cases on Tuesday also recorded the sharpest increase in new cases from 169 on Monday.
Kalakurichi (47), Erode (115), Mayiladuthurai (33) and Sivaganga also saw a two-digit increase in cases between Monday and Tuesday.
Thanjavur recorded the steepest decline in new cases with infection almost twice than 104 on Monday to 53 on Tuesday.
Sixteen districts reported less than 20 cases and among them, thoothukudi, dindigul, virudhunagar, tubkasi, tirupattattor, Theni and Ramanathapuram reported cases in one digit.
With three new cases, Ramanathapuram reported the fewest fresh cases.
19 deaths took the victim to 35,055.
At the end of the day, after the use of 1,576 people, the state has 16,205 people on the active case list.
Of the 19 deaths, Chennai and Chengalpet reported three and coimbatore and namakkal each had two deaths.
Nine districts recorded one death and 25 reported zero death.
On average, the state has vaccinated almost 5 lakh people a day in September and the cumulative dose counts 3.4 crores.
On Tuesday, the state was vaccinated by 4.7 lakh compared to 5.2 lakh on Monday, 2.9 lakh on Sundays and 6.2 lakh on Saturday.
Vaccination coverage in private centers from May 1 touched 22.24 lakh.
Pondy recorded more than 970 cases of Covid-19 active cases in Puduchhery inching closer to 1,000 marks with the Union region reported 127 new cases in 24 hours ending at 10 am on Tuesday.
After 66 people were sent home, UT had 974 people who were still undergoing treatment for viral infections.
A 46-year-old woman with comorbidity from the karaetic died of infection, took the victim to 1,819.
The sample front level (5,479) tested on Tuesday reached 2.3%.
