JAMSHEDPUR: Executional Ministry, which acts based on specific information, invades general stores in Sopodera under the Parsudih police station on the outskirts of the steel city and seizes a large number of Indian foreign alcoholic drinks and state liquor on Tuesday.
The source said the Excise Ministry was told that liquor was being sold at the Mahato General Store in Parsudih.
Sources said on Monday the department had invaded another general store in the nearest area after receiving a complaint that liquor was being sold there.
During the raids of excise officials found that the accusation was true because liquor was restored from the Kundu Variety Shop in Gangadih from the East Singhbhum District.
The source said one person was arrested in this connection.
Meanwhile, residents of Boram and Haludbani villagers met and decided that they would stop anyone from using forest areas to produce illegal state liquor.
They will also prevent logging in the forest.
The villagers say the forest at the foot of Dalma is used to produce illegal liquor.
