The Database of the Middle Road Accident Launched in Goa

PANAJI: Taking steps towards road safety, the Goa government launched the Integrated Road Accident Database Project (IRAD) in the state on Wednesday.
An initiative from the Ministry of Road Transportation and Highway (Morth) and funded by the World Bank, Irad will form an accurate and uniform accident data collection mechanism and analysis, and will introduce corrective interventions in policy and infrastructure to improving road safety in the country.
Transportation Minister Mauvin Godinho said that Irad would help prevent accidents and that in the digital world today the most important thing is to know how to use data.
This project is a comprehensive web-based information technology solution that will enable various institutions to include detailed accidents on various perspectives such as detail related to victims, investigations, road engineering, vehicle conditions and include accurate space information.
Project software will provide back-end analytics and simultaneous relationships with some real-time synchronization and update data, which will be disseminated to various stakeholders under the jurisdiction below.
After the police department captures the details of the crash on the road, the warning will be sent to the officials of the Department of Transportation and the highway via email and SMS.
The police department official will then send requests to motor vehicle inspectors of the Department of Transportation requesting motor vehicle inspections.
After this examination, details relating to the transportation department will be arrested and the appropriate accident information report is generated.
Similarly, details relating to the highway department will be arrested by the Assistant Highway Engineering / Public Works Department.
