Nagpur: Minister of Higher Education Maharashtra Uday Samant on Saturday said that the date of MHT-CET will be stated in two to four days.
The Minister said that the exam, which was usually held in June, has been postponed because the number of exam centers must be increased from 194 to 350 to maintain covid distance norms.
Speaking to the media here, Samant also states the dedicated university settings that offer Marathi language courses.
Senior Senior Shiv leader Siwakar Raote has increased this demand in the last assembly session.
“Panel, which will be arranged in the next 8-10 days, will send a report,” he said.
Repeating that the government is not mood to reopen universities given the threat of the third wave of Covid-19, Samant said all stakeholders have been instructed for the earliest vaccinated.
“We also need to check the status of the university hostel converted to the covid isolation center,” he said.
The minister said the government engineering universities have reduced the costs of 16,250, while government-managed universities such as Vasantro rising the Institute of Arts and Social Sciences (VNGIASS) and the Forensic Science Institute have been cutting it with RS1,000 and Rs 2,000, approximately.
“For private colleges, the panel under the officer IAS Chintaman Joshi will suggest a formula to reduce costs within 15 days.
We also released RS 301 Crore scholarship contributions to college, but I cannot comment on other departments such as social welfare and OBC,” Samant said.
Samant added that his department would provide RS49 Lakh to VNGIASS and RS 1 Crore to the Government Science Institute of the District Planning Committee (DPC) fund.
