Many of these parents don’t even have a smartphone to be given to their children and many more will migrate to their home cities and receive entrance tickets in nearby government schools where free education.
“The lottery was announced two months ago and parents were given time with three extensions of deadlines for Confirm receipt at the school allocated.
Last year, there were almost 1.15 lakh seats for RTE which had been reduced to 96,000 this year.
This year’s rationing was announced by the Directorate of Basic Education for 82,000 seats but many seats remained empty.
“We want each student to get our chance and efforts to ensure that every student who is given in.
Parents are being sent an SMS to remind them of reception confirmation.
There are three rounds for parents to confirm receipt,” said the Director of Basic Education, Dattatraya Jagtap.
