The death toll from Sudan’s anti-coup protest rose to 40: medical

Khartoum: The death toll in Sudan from anti-cudeta protests since last month’s military takeover has increased to at least 40, Medics said Saturday after a teenager’s shot in the previous days died.
Sudan General for Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan on October 25 stated an emergency, expelled the government and held back civilian leadership.
Military takeover improved two-year transition to civilian government, drawing curses and international punishment steps, and provoking people to be brought to the streets.
Protests on Wednesday provoked the deadliest day so far, with those who were killed now standing at 16, according to medical officers.
“One martyr died …
after he gave up on severe injuries after being hit by a round directly to the head and legs on November 17,” said the Independent Sudanese doctor’s central committee.
He is 16 years old, he added.
Most of them were killed on Wednesday at Khartoum Utara, which is located across the Nile from the capital, medical words.
Police officials deny using almunition and insisting they have used “minimum strength” to disperse protests.
They only recorded one death, among the demonstrators in the North Khartoum.
On Friday, small groups of protesters rose in several environments after prayer against the military coup, especially in the North Khartoum, where people were seen building a barricade across the street.
Security forces sporadically fired tears to disperse them.
The United States on Friday condemned the hard action.
“We call for those responsible for violations and violations of human rights, including the use of excessive strength to the peace protesters, to be responsible,” said a spokesman for the Foreign Affairs Ned in a statement.
Washington said Sudan had to be “free to voice their opinions without fear of violence”, and asked those who were arrested since the takeover was released.
“In front of the upcoming protest, we call the Sudanese authority to use restraint and allow peaceful demonstrations,” US added.
The Sudanese Professional Association (SPA) has urged the demonstrators to protect their campaign, reported Friday that security forces had “invaded houses and mosques” in North Khartoum.
Spa is an umbrella of trade unions who play a role in demonstrations for months that overthrow President Omar al-Bashir in April 2019.
Sudan has a long history of a military coup, just enjoying a rare interlude of democratic government since independence in 1956.
Burhan, the upper general, Affirming Military Steps “Not a Coup” But Steps “To Improve Transitions” as faciliation disputes and divisions increasingly in civilians and military under the current government being overthrown.
Since then he has announced a new civil military ruling board where he maintained his position as head, along with strong paramilitary commanders, three senior military figures, three former leaders of civilians.
But four other civil members were replaced with less known numbers.
