Mumbai: The Maharashtra government on Sunday said that the death toll in various incidents related to rain, including floods and landslides, in the state has increased to 149.
36 more bodies found in Satara Regency and Raigad as a rescue operation gathered, while 64.

The statement from the control room of the State Secretariat said 28 deaths were reported again from the Satara District in West Maharashtra and 8 of Raigad Regency in the coastal area.

60 deaths so far reported in Raigad, 21 in Ratnagiri, 41 in Satara, 12 Ine, seven in Kolhapur, four on the outskirts of Mumbai, and two of each in Sindhudurg and Pune, according to the government.
A total of 875 villages in Kolhapur, Sangli, Satara and Pune were influenced by heavy rain, he said.
“Five aid camps have been established in the city of Chiplun which was hit by flooding in the Ratnagiri District.
25 Tim NDRF, four teams of SDRF, two coastal guard teams, five Navy teams and three army teams conducted a relief and rescue operation,” said the statement.
When the bridge on the Vashishthi River that connects Chiplun to Mumbai has collapsed, the road remains closed for traffic.
The state government has provided emergency financial assistance each RS 2 Crore to Raigad and Ratnagiri districts.
Satara, Sangli, Pune, Kolhapur, Thane and Sindhudurg, were also affected by rain, given financial assistance from Rs 50 Lakh, the statement.
Previously on that day, the Chairman of the Minister of UDDHAV Thackeray visited Chiplun, severe flooding site, and interacted with residents, entrepreneurs, and shop owners.
He promised them all assistance from the state government to restore the normal state of the area.
Thackeray said they would need “central assistance for long-term mitigation measures”, and added that he would conduct a West Maharashtra tour on Monday and comprehensive data from the level of damage would be prepared.
Heavy rain earlier this week triggered landslides in several Maharashtra areas including the most deadly in Taliye Village in Raigad Regency.
