Baghdad: Death toll from the fire in the Covid-19 hospital ward in Iraq Nasiriyah has increased to 54, the South Provincial Health Department Dhi Qar has said.
“The number of victims from the fire at Imam Hussein Hospital in Nasiriyah has reached 54,” the Ministry of Health said in a statement.
According to initial information, the fire was caused by an oxygen tank explosion.
The fire department has launched a fire, however, some coronavirus patients remain trapped in the hospital building.
