Australia’s High Performance Head Ben Oliver said that the decision about the future of Justin Langer will be carried out after the ashes settlement, with the coach’s contract will expire in mid 2022.
Langer’s leadership was criticized in the midst of the players who were not satisfied with the T20 World Cup leader but he directed Australia to the victory over New Zealand in the final and had guided them to lead 3-0 which were not newest in England in the ash series.
“We make a commitment before the summer start that we will really focus on the World Cup campaign, this ash campaign and after this series is complete we will return as collective and do it,” said Oliver Position Langer.
“Justin has done a good job.
I thought he really hugged the conversation above the winter and he really evolved and leaned on it.” Langer’s position in the helmet was under supervision in August as a result of dissatisfaction with the style of training, encouraging talks between players and officials who saw the former Batsman opening his approach.
“The conversation was really constructive at the time and big credit for players leaders who were able to provide truly constructive feedback,” Oliver said.
“Justin adhere to the conversation and finally we have created – and he helped create together with other supporting staff and players leaders – the environment where the team has been able to perform very well.” The final test of the ash series began in Hobart on January 14.
Australia then held a white ball meeting with New Zealand and Sri Lanka scheduled before the test team traveled to Pakistan for the three-match series in March.
Oliver said there was no special timeline for talks about Langer’s contract but it was good to see Australia’s success.
“The team has played some extraordinary cricket and it is a great credit for the players, staff and to everyone involved on the way for a long time now for these players to support them,” he added.
