Nagpur: Indian defense exports for the past two years standing at RS 17,000 Crore, said Defense Minister Rajnath Singh.
Singh spoke on the function to hand over the first batch of multimode hand grenades made by Economic Explosives Limited (EEL), a company located in the city.
Head of General Army M M M M M Narnavne and Drdo Chief G Sateesh Reddy is also part of the function.
The country’s defense sector moved towards independence, he said.
Singh said he hoped to see India emerged as a defense and export hub manufacturing in the coming days.

The Minister also thanked workers from the Armament Factory Agency (OFB).
He said they officially approved the corporatization of 41 factories.

However, they have agreed with peace,” Singh said.
In an effort to improve public-public partnerships, Drdo provides free access to as many as 450 patents to the industry.
Like a multimode grenade, Arjun Mark 1 tank, unmanned surface vehicles and seeing through Amour is also made by the Indian industry.
Lately, 10 private industries have been empowered to conduct self-certification of their products.
Drdo also offers funds in front of Rs 10 Crore to the private industry to invest in research and development, said Minister.
