Bhubaneswar: The number of capital micro detention zones has crossed 100 since the third wave of Pandemic Covid-19 broke here.
Until Monday, the number of active cases in Bhubaneswar was 3,325.
The capital, which has grappled with the impact of the pandemic through all the waves, has never seen the extent of detention in two previous waves.
Administration in New Delhi has created more than 1,000 detention zones in the second wave.
“Micro detention will now help load the spread of further viruses.
We have limited sidewalks because livelihoods need to be given priority too.
At the personal level, each of us must take precautions.
We must follow the behavior that can save us from contracts the spread of the virus , “said Sanjay Kumar Singh, Commissioner, Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC).
Singh added that even though Bhubaneswar had a floating population, the capital’s population was the majority of those infected in pandemic waves today.
