Bhubaneswar: Development of Puri-Konark Marine Drive Beachfront is expected to be able to begin because the state government has assigned the task of implementing an ambitious plan to the work department.
The main plan of the beach development project has been prepared by an agent involved by the Ministry of Tourism.
According to him, almost a KM stretch near Chandrabhaga Beach in Puri-Konark Marine Drive will be developed with advanced infrastructure.
Water and adventure sports, recreational activities, designated areas for pedestrians, bicycle lines, open theaters and entertainment areas for children are part of the development plan.
Landscape development, facilities for solar lighting and solid waste management are also part of the plan to develop Chandrabhaga Beach, which attracts thousands of domestic and international tourists every year.
The steps will also be taken to involve local communities in developing the coast.
The beach is the main attraction for Eco Retreat, a glitcher festival for high flying tourists.
A tourism department official said the state government would spend more than RS 20 Crore for the development of Konark Beach.
Although the Department of Tourism has obtained the approval of the state government for the master plan, the work department has been asked to design a project from a typhoon’s point of view, officially more.
Sources in the State Work Department said they had provided responsibility for implementing tourism development projects to Chief Engineers (buildings).
Executed officers have been asked to coordinate with the Ministry of Tourism officials about the progress of the project, which is expected to be completed in a year.
The development of Marine Drive Sea Coast is part of the state government’s plan to revive the covid tourism sector in the state.
In January, Chairman of the Minister of Naveen Patnaik had announced the development of the coast, along with the Talasari-Udaypur beach in the Balalasore District.
The development of the Talasari-Udaypur coast will be taken after the recovery of complete compensation caused by the Yaas cyclone.
Although around RS 7 Crore was originally estimated to develop coastal, the revised estimate would be prepared after the completion of the restoration process, the official said.
About 2.4 km from the Talasari-Udaypur beach have been identified for the development with facilities such as pavilions, kiosks, sitting islands, volta panels of sun photos, ambithites, restaurants and art plazas and art crafts.
PSU center is likely to be issued for the development of the coast.
The country, which offers a 480-km coastline, also plans to develop other sea coast in the future.
