Bhubaneswar: The Directorate of Enforcement (ED) here on Tuesday roasting former Forest Forest (IFS) official Abhay Kant Pathak in connection with the money laundering case registered against him last year.
In May this year, the center gave a required pension to Pathak after the recommendation of the state government of alleged corrupt activities.
Abhay and his son Akash was arrested by the Nestamade Directorate of Country on November 27, 2020 for allegedly having non-proportional assets of RS 9.3 Crore.
Precautions last year was written to Ed to track the traits of non-interested sons and children.
Ed also brought the former Gopalpur Mla Pradeep Panigrahy under the scope of the investigation because he was with Akash allegedly deceiving some unemployed young men by promising their work in Tata Motors.
Panigrahy, whose daughter is ready to marry Akash, was arrested by the state crime branch on December 3, 2020 for allegedly colluding with Akash in fraud.
“We questioned Pathak about some suspicious financial transactions.
He deposited big money in his son’s bank account.
If needed, we will call him again to overthrow the interrogation,” said an officer Ed.
The source said Ed had served calling on Panigrahy.
to appear for interrogation.
“We have called Panigrahy before.
But he failed to turn to Inquiry.
The new notice will be sent to him.
If he does not work together in an investigation, he may land in a legal issue,” the officer said.
It must be noted, Panigrahy reportedly received around RS 2.5 Crore in his account at a private bank in the whole year ago.
In addition, he allegedly collected big money from some unemployed young men in the name of Akash to give them jobs in Tata Motors.
Previous authorities detected RS 17.52 Bank Crore deposits on behalf of Akash.
Pathak and Panigrahy, which are currently not available for comments.
Akash was still nesting in your holding since his arrest last year in alleged work fraud.
Ed plans to take court permission to interrogate Akash in prison.
