Written by news2in

Nagpur: The streets in the Dharampeth zone are the dirtiest in the city, disclosing data collected during road sweeping by the Solid Waste Management Department (SWM) Nagpur Municipal (NMC).
In accordance with the data compiled by the SWM department, around 93.92 metric tons (MT) waste collected from the road below the Dharampeth zone from January 17 to 23.
In particular, this zone has limited commercial places and markets.
The amount of waste found on the streets in the Dharampeth zone, one of the most kietary areas in the city, explained how citizens lacked citizenship when it came to keep their area clean.
Zone followed by Gandhibagh Zone, which includes many commercial areas such as expensive, chitnis park etc.
In the last seven days, around 92.54mt waste – most waste was dry – collected from there.
It shows that shop owners and people who live in this area are indifferent about keeping the free way, the source said.
The road under the Zone Nehru Nagar also wore dirty images, as in the last seven days of around 79.66mt garbage was lifted from the streets.
The Dhantoli zone, which includes areas such as cotton markets, ganeshpeth etc.
also contributes around 76.62mt waste.
Toi recently reported that even though the city has a garbage collection facility to the door, there are 333 black spots where waste continues to be disposed of indiscriminately.
Mapping by the SWM department has identified 209 black spots in the area below the zone 1 to zone 5, while the remaining five zones (from 6 to 10) have around 124 black spots.
The source shows that in the past Swachh Survekshan results, NMC has gained fewer values because the streets are not clean.
So, it must ensure that city streets, especially the commercial area that crosses Criss, is cleaned at least twice a day.
Civil activists appreciate the NMC to record details separate from the garbage generator.
“This is definitely a step towards keeping the streets of town clean,” they said.
If the Civic body does not improve its monitoring, the city ranking in the Swachh Bharat survey can slipped further.
Last year, Nagpur slipped to 23 place from the 18th place in the previous year.
The Swachh Surevekshan team can start checking 100 cities in mid-February, said source.
