Nagpur: Because the Nagpur District received 43,000 covishield doses, vaccination programs will continue after a day of rest in government centers in the city and district on Wednesday.
Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) received 26,000 doses according to his allotment.
It will force the Civic’s body to vaccinate in a limited way at 150 centers in the city, according to the NMC Press Note.
With the inclusion of 18+ group beneficiaries last month, district daily vaccination capacity has increased to more than 50,000 while the government is unable to supply sufficient doses.
Therefore, the drive has been running with several breaks from day to three in stretches.
After receipt of new doses, district and civil administration provides an online slot booking from 7pm and so on.
Expected, most of the city center is fully booked.
At 10 pm, the slot is limited to around 30 centers in the city and the suburbs of the district.
Acute shortages not only affect the second dose of 45+ age groups and old citizens but also health care workers and frontline workers (FLWS) which are preferred groups after exiting the Mega drive.
In the city, more than 10.45 Lakh vaccination has been completed.
This includes the first dose of 46,412 HCWs, 53,367 from FLWS, 87,490 of 45 commorbid groups and 1,88,698 elderly residents.
In line with that, only 26,267 HCWs, 24,994 Flws, 25,251 45+ Komorbids and 1.07,034 elderly residents have completed their second dose.
Confused, the second percentage of dose remains around 50% of the first HCW and many of them have taken their first dose between January and April.
The government has increased the gap between two covishield doses to three months but due to many shortages that are forced to wait outside the period of gap.
