Chennai: The DMK government in Tamil Nadu on Friday announced a tax deduction of Rs 3 on gasoline per liter and held the center responsible for increasing fuel costs and said responsibility for the administration of trade unions.
Minister of Finance Palanivel Thiaga Rajan, presents a revised budget for 2021-22 to the Assembly, announcing tax cuts.
“I am pleased to notify the house that this government has decided to reduce the effective tax rate on gasoline by Rs 3 per liter and thus provide great assistance to the working class people who work hard in the state.
This size will result in income loss of Rs.1,160 Crore per year, “said Minister of Finance.
The Association of Nadu Nadu Dealer Association K K P Murali said that in Chennai gasoline prices are now Rs 102.49 and sold to a maximum RS 104.48 in other parts of the country.
RS 3 pieces per liter will reduce prices in commandal in their respective regions, he added.
Tamil Nadu was the first to cut taxes on gasoline after Spurt in retail fuel prices since May.
Before the downward revision, the state was subject to 15% plus Rs 13.02 per liter tax on gasoline, which was translated into RS 24.26 per liter tax.
