Thiruvananthapuram: There is no pause for attacks on doctors in the state and the latest incidents have been reported from Parassala in Thiruvananthapuram.
Dr.
Sanoj, who was on duty at Parassala Taluk Hospital on Monday night, was attacked by a four-person gang.
The four had been arrested after protests from the doctor at the hospital.
The doctors moved away from assignments in the morning and demanded the arrest of the attackers if they had to rejoin the task.
“We have to boycott the task of placing authorities under pressure which resulted in the arrest of four people,” said Dr.
Unnikrishnan, the hospital supervisor.
The incident occurred at 11pm on Monday when a group of four people came in Maruti Alto’s car to the hospital.
Among them one person suffered an injury in his hand and they wanted to care for this.
However, hospital security does not allow them to enter because the fourth is not wearing a mask.
They attacked security and heard Dr.
Sanoj’s voice out of the hospital to examine what had happened.
The doctor also explained that they should not enter the hospital without wearing a mask and he would not attend them if they were not ready to listen.
The four gang members, who are in drunkenness, are not ready to listen and launch an attack on a doctor.
Dr.
Sanoj fell on the floor in Tiff.
He is the only doctor on duty at the hospital.
The doctor and hospital staff boycotted the task on Tuesday morning and explained that they would not attend the task until the attackers were arrested.
ADGP Manoj Abraham then directed the Parassala police to take immediate action against the plants.
“This is the fourth attack incidence of doctors who occur here in the past two months.
Every time a problem occurs in night assignments.
Now, we have asked the district collector and district medical officers to establish a post of police assistance in the hospital for our security,” said hospital supervisor.
