Thiruvananthapuram: Four more cases of Zika have been reported from the country’s capital which took the total to 23.
The latest case has been reported to a 38-year-old doctor who works with a private hospital, a 16-year-old girl from Karikkakom, 35- years from Poonthura Pesisir Hamlet and 41-year-old woman from Sasthamangalam in the city.
The Chairperson of the Pinarayai Minister Vijayan said there was nothing to worry about because the disease was harmless.
But his steps to load the spread and eradication of mosquitoes is the only solution for this.
Therefore the direction needed has been given to local government agencies to ensure this, he added.
However, of the 15 samples sent for testing to Medical Medical Hospital Thiruvananthapuram on Monday, Zika’s negative was tested.
Of this case it has been detected with dengue fever.
One case was reported on Mondays and three cases reported on Sundays that included 22-month-old children.
All 23 cases have been reported from state capital so far.
After reporting more than cases in this district, health administration has increased mosquito eradication measures.
Joining the body of the local self-government, the Ministry of Health has started a large source reduction campaign in this district.
The authorities are under the fear that the intermittent rain will lead to an increase in mosquito density and therefore the right source reduction program must be done.
The health department has urged people to keep the household clean.
