Nagpur: Musormycosis is generally known to affect eyeballs, teeth and nose systems or brains.
But now it has been found to have found the large intestine of a 70-year-old patient from the city.
Already lost his left eye ball a month ago, the man was treated at a seven-star hospital on July 19 after mushrooms to eat reclary meat in the base of his skull, threaten the right eyeball too.
A month ago, Covid’s restored person was treated at another private hospital after the first attack of black mushrooms.
The man has complained about the pain in the stomach when he was in treatment for relapse mukormycosis.
The doctor decided to overcome both skull bones and abdominal pain in single anesthesia.
However, in laprosopy, they could not find anything unusual correlated with abdominal pain.
Dr.
Prashant Friendly, Endoscopic and Laprocopy Surgeons, said that Colonscopy was carried out several times in a private hospital before not found anything.
“When the patient shifts to our hospital, we do laprosopy.
When the blood pressure is low, we put the tube and remove the pus before covering the stomach,” said Dr.
Rahit, who is also a hospital director.
After surgery, the patient continued to complain of pain in the stomach and began to swell.
“After two days, we returned to laparotomy.
Black mushrooms were found in a 6-inch portion of sigmoid colon.
Medical literature has recorded such mucrorition incidents,” he added that they were rare.
Dr.
Rahit agreed that it might be the first case among post-covid patients in the district.
Dr.
Shailesh Kothalkar, head and neck of the surgeon, said that Fossa and Clivus Infratemporal patients (skull base) and the right eye were also infected.
“Timely intervention saves the eyes right when we release the infected part,” he said.
Dr.
Further friendly that Colostomy was also done to ensure the graduation of feces smoothly.
“Already, the patient is low in nutrition because he has been sick for a long time.
Healing power is low because of steroids.
Colostomy will help the intestine to recover and recover early,” he said.
According to him, if there is weak immunity, it is difficult to restore the intestine because there is a risk of leaking.
“The patient starts eating from the next day,” he said.
Some relapse cases were reported in Nagpur Regency, which had seen one of the highest number of musicycosis cases in addition to Pune and Mumbai.
One of these theories has linked a mucor infection to the prevalence of Delta variants.
