Patna: All samples of 40 Covid-19 tested in second place from the sequencing of the genome at the Indira Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences (IGIMS) in Patna is a very contagious Omicron variant, said Pratyaya Amrit (Health) Secretary after the results came on Tuesday.
He said the majority of Covid-19 cases that were common in the state were omicron variants.
“A total of 40 samples were tested on IGIM and all of the Omicron variants.
Previously, 27 samples from 32 tested in Igims have been found by Omicron variants,” he said.
“Omikron is the dominant tension in Bihar on the third wave of pandemic.
But the situation is controlled because maximum people do not have or mild symptoms.
These people are getting better in home isolation,” he said.
A total of 22 of the 40 samples that showed the omicron variant came from Patna, five of Muzaffarpur, three of the styles, each of Jatui, Munger and Khagaria and one from Samastipur, Sitamarhi, Suggestions and Bhagalpur.
This sample was collected between January 1 and 8.
Maximum 16 people in the age group of 20 to 39, each of each in 40-49 and 50-59, six senior citizens and two were adolescents, IGIMS officials said.
Special Secretary (Health) Sanjay Kumar Singh said the district control room team had contacted 35,000 people for medical support in house isolation.
“From these people, only 13 Covid-19 patients need medical assistance and have shifted to DCHC.
Medications have been supplied to 10,573 people through India Post,” he said.
Anesh Parashar, Executive Director of the Additional State Health Society, highlighted that more than 99.9% (5.94 crore) the qualified population (18 and above) in Bihar has received the first dose of Covid-19 vaccine, while 90.8% (4, 48 crore) gets both doses.
