Noida: Because the district has almost finished managing the first dose of the Covid vaccine into the targeted population, it has now shifted focus on the second dose.
In the days since August 28, Noida has given a dose of two more than the first.
Within a week between August 28 and September 3, more than 1 Lakh vaccination was carried out in this district.
This includes around 65,000 second doses and 35,000 first.
Until last Friday, the first dose daily was higher than the second, except on Saturday, which has been provided only for the second dose now.
Because vaccination began in January, this was the first time that more people came to the second dose than the first.
In the past week, Noida has been inoculating 10,000-15,000 people on the average daily.
Every day, the second dose recipient is at least 2,000-3,000 more than the first.
“It only shows that most people in the district have got their first dose.
We still keep some open slots for the first jab because Noida has a large floating population.
However, we almost finished our target for the first dose,” said Dr.
Sunil Sharma, Head of Officer medical.
Officials said there were around 4 lakh people who had not received their second dose.
According to the source, the number of people maturing for a second shot will only drop to 50,000 now has a second wave that does not affect vaccination.
Many people who got Covid in March and April could not take their second dose for months.
With a demand for the second dose increase, residents have asked more slots and the center exclusively for the next shot.
The Ministry of Health has ordered six centers only for the second dose.
“These centers are not enough and don’t even succeed correctly.
Officials say that people can walk in to get their second dose.
But when reaching the center, the staff asked us to order slots in advance.
This slot doesn’t even appear on the portal and Cannot be ordered, “said Sonal Verma, a resident of sector 48.
