New Delhi: More than one health crore and frontline workers together with some residents over 60 years who suffer from comorbidity will be eligible to receive the third dose (Booster) Covid vaccine from Monday as India started the ‘Dosage Prevention Action’ administration in a high-risk population In the midst of increasing Covid-19 cases throughout the country, an official said.
Feasibility for ‘Dosage of Prevention Action’ requires the recipient to finish nine months after the second dose.
The Ministry of Health previously said that the Co-Win system would send an SMS reminder to the eligible to take advantage of the dose of preventive measures.
“The SMS reminder has been pushed to more than 1 Crore receiver for the preventive dose.
This system is ready to welcome the recipient in vaccination centers on Monday,” the official said.
While booking online appointments to meet the dose of preventive measures through co-win starting from Saturday, beneficiaries can also walk in for vaccination.
However, there is no need for new registration.
The government has clarified that the ‘Dosage of Prevention Action’ will be the same Jab as the first and second dose.
Those who get Covaxin will get Covaxin and those who get a covishield will get a covishield.
While those over the age of 60 with co-morbidities have been advised to look for medical advice before receiving the third dose, they will not be asked to submit any certificate for the same thing.
“The details of the prevention dose will also reflect in the official vaccination certificate,” the next official added.
In accordance with government projections, nearly three health crore and frontline workers are expected to meet the requirements in January to obtain a dose of booster or prevention of covid vaccine.
In addition, 2.7 crore people in the 60 plus age group with co-morbidities are projected throughout the country.
Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, West Bengal and Tamil Nadu have most people in this category.
However, very few people like that are actually entitled to get the third dose in January after completing a nine-month gap.
The government states that it keeps tabs on information that appears, science and data about mixing vaccines and heterogal approaches.
Overall, a total of 151.9 doses of crore have been given in the country until week 8 nights.
These include 63.2 crores or 67% of adults over 18 years which are fully vaccinated with two doses.
