Coimbatore: Rural police on Thursday arrested a driver of the Autorickshaw for allegedly killing his wife after fighting over his affair.
Thudiangur police arrested Anandakumar, a driver of the Autorickshaw from Velespalayam.
He lives with his wife Selvi, 45, a son, and a daughter.
The police said Anandakumar was addicted to alcohol and often fought with his wife.
On Wednesday night, he returned home in a drunk condition.
When his wife asked him, Anandakumar took a fight with him.
Later, Selvi questioned her husband about her relationship with another woman.
In anger, he took a knife from the kitchen and stabbed his wife to death before escaping from the place) for postmortem.
The police arrested Anandakumar from Saravanampatti on Thursday morning.
He was produced in front of Judge Judicial and then returned in court detention.
Further investigation is on.
