Guwahati: The elderly pair was found killed on Tuesday at their home in the Beltola Guwahati area, police said.
It was alleged that the robber entered the house through the window in the early hours and killed a pair with sharp weapons in their room, they said.
The couple has two daughters, both of which live outside the country, police said.
The forensic team and a sniffer dog visited the place after the bodies were found, they said.
A cid team also visited the house.
“We have brought the couple’s caregivers and his wife to the police station to be questioned.
We are investigating all corners and too early to speculate anything,” said a police officer.
“We try to make sure there are valuables or cash.
Lost from home,” he added.
