Daltonganj: The elderly elderly an official, posted in the office of the minister’s chairman in Ranchi, was killed in their home here on Wednesday night.
The deceased was identified as Rajeshwar RAM (75), a former soldier and his wife Parmilla Devi (70).
The couple has two sons and one daughter, all married.
Their youngest son, Arvind Kumar, was the secretary secretary for the minister’s chairman and life in Ranchi.
Their son’s son Arun Kumar, stayed 3 km in Shahpur under the Chainpur police station.
SP (Palamu) Chandan Kumar Sinha said the investigation had begun to find out the criminals and motives of the murder.
He said unknown strikers use sharp-eyed weapons to kill them.
“The former army man had several injuries on his body than his wife.
His chest was pierced,” he said, adding that the killer must have been known by the victims.
The police said Rajeshwar’s body was found in a pool of blood and the chair he reportedly sat before he was killed upside down.
“The old woman was in a pool of blood in the kitchen,” said Sinha.
The couple lived alone in their two-story home and planned to get a renovated upstairs where the bamboo scaffold was built.
SP said the motive behind the murder was not confirmed but put aside theft as an intention even though the almirah was found to be damaged and open.
“The way the couple was killed looking like revenge and hostility,” Sinha said, adding that the criminals seemed to be a professional killer.
A team of forensic experts and a slut dog from Ranchi was pressed onto the service on Thursday.
A single CCTV camera installed in the area is being scanned, police said.
The police said Arvind had arranged a guard to secure his aging parents.
However, the guards did not realize the incident and Arvind found his parents died when he entered their room.
They also said three cups of tea were found and they tried to find out if the deceased had entertained any guests.
Former Minister K Tripathy visited the house of the deceased and spent their family members.
