New Delhi: Delhi police have arrested two people for allegedly deceiving an old woman Rs 1.59 Crore.
The defendant has been identified as Arvind (39) and Babi (36).
Complainants, senior citizens and widows of an Army officer, Balraj Kaur Naru (70) filed a complaint with the Dwarka Police Station (South), Delhi where he accused the cheating of Rs 1.59 Crore by Arvind and Babi with the pretext in Dwarka.
The defendant visited his home in March 2019 for salon services.
Babi tells him that her husband, Arvind, is a property dealer and can set a good flat on reasonable requirements in Dwarka.
Arvind managed to convince the complainant that he could examine the agreement with NRI for a flat in sector-10, Dwarka.
He had paid him Rs 1.59 Crore through checks and cash on different occasions until November 2019, but finally realized that he had been cheated.
The two defendants flew long after deceiving the woman and had a gift from Rs 20,000 each stated by Delhi’s police headquarters on them, Delhi police said.
