New Delhi: A grandson of the former Head of SGPC Gurcharan Singh Tohra, Kanwarveer Singh, a former leader of Akali Didar Singh Bhatti, a former member of the Gurmit Singh Sodhi congress and former Minister of ManoRanjan Kalia and Tikshan Sud are among 34 candidates who were given tickets by BJP for elections Punjab on Friday.
This list contains several previous leaders with other parties but will fight now on BJP tickets.
Here is a look at some of the leading names that BJP has offered.
1) Arvind Khanna in Sangrur: Arvind Khanna is a leading politician who previously with Shoromani Akali Dal and then Congress.
Khanna was chosen to the legislature from Sangrur in 2002 and in 2012 from Dhuri, the chair from where the AAP Bhagwant Mann leader will fight.
He will fight again from Sangrur this time.
Khanna was also studied to be associated with former Chief Minister Amarinder Singh.
2) Gurmit Rana Singh Sodhi: He is a minister in the government of Amarinder Singh-LED.
However, after Amarinder Singh left Congress, Sodhi was one of the leading faces that joined BJP.
He has been elected MLA several times including from Teacher Har Sahai in 2017.
BJP has lowered it from the city of Firozepur.
3) Karanveer Singh Tohra: He is one of the young faces that belong to one of the most prominent Political Political Families.
Toha is the grandson of the former head of the SGPC Gurcharan Singh Tohra, a personality that loomed his substances across Punjab.
BJP has lowered Karanveer Singh Tohra from the Amloh seat where he will enjoy the Minister of Agriculture Kaka Randeep Singh.
4) Didar Singh Bhatti: He is the former MLA Akali who has joined BJP recently.
Previously, Bhatti speculated to be nominated by sadness from Fatehgarh Sahib.
He will fight from the same chair, however, with BJP tickets.
5) Gurpreet Singh Bhatti: A former AAP leader, Gurpreet Singh Bhatti has opposed the 2017 Assembly poll from the Amloh seat.
However, he had lost to Kaka Randeep Singh.
BJP has now lowered it from a neighboring country.
6) Namisha Mehta: He is the face of a leading Congress in the Doaba area but failed to get a party ticket.
Mehta joined BJP before the head of Ashwani Sharma.
He will now fight from Garh Shankar’s chair.
7) Ravipreet Sidhu: He is another young leader who earlier in the Akali Dal but crossed to BJP.
The Saffron party has offered from Sabo’s Talwandi.
8) ManoRanjan Kalia: He is the BJP veteran leader who has been a minister in the previous BJP government.
Lawyers by the profession, he is a BJP candidate from Jalandhar (Central).
9) Tikshan Sud: another BJP veteran that has become a minister in the BJP-BJP government combines.
He is a leader with a considerable influence in Hoshiarpur.
He will fight from the same constituency.
10) Arun Narang: He is MLA sitting from Abrohar from where he was lowered.
Narang faces a very aggressive horde during farmer protests.
Removing the list, the Secretary General of BJP Tarun Chugh said the party had given representation to all parts of society, and the first list included 12 people from farmers’ families, eight of the scheduled caste, and professionals.
