The EU brings us from a safe travel list; Return to travel restrictions

Brussels: The European Union recommended Monday that 27 countries returned tourist restrictions from the United States because of the increase in Coronavirus infection there.
The decision by the European Council to remove the US from the safe list of countries for unnecessary trips reversing the suggestions given in June, when blocks recommend restrictions on appointment on travelers from the country before the summer tourism season.
But the guidance does not lead, and US travelers must expect Mishmash’s travel rules across the continent.
The EU also removes Israel, Kosovo, Lebanon, Montenegro, and North Macedonia from the list.
The European Union does not have an integrated Covid-19 tourism policy and the National EU government has the authority to decide whether they remain open to US tourists.
Restrictions that might include quarantine, further testing requirements on arrival or even total prohibition on all unimportant trips from the US.
More than 15 million Americans visit Europe every year before the Coronavirus crisis, and restrictions on new travel can cost billions of Europe.
The recommendation does not apply to the UK, which officially left the EU at the beginning of the year and opened its border for tourists who were fully vaccinated from the US earlier this month.
The United States remains on the English “amber” trip, which means that adults who are fully vaccinated arriving from the US to England do not have to isolate themselves.
The Covid-19 test needed three days before arrival in England and another test needed two days after arriving.
Meanwhile, the United States has not reopened its own borders to EU tourists, despite calls from blocks for Biden to raise their prohibitions.
Adalbert Jahnz, spokesman for the European Commission for home business, said Monday that the European Union’s executive arm remained in the discussion with US administration because both parties had failed to find a reciprocal approach.
In addition to the epidemiological criteria used to determine the restriction countries must be appointed, the European Council says that “reciprocity must also be taken into account in case per case”.
The European Council updates a secure travel list based on criteria related to the level of Coronavirus infection.
It will be reviewed every two weeks.
The threshold for being on the UE list is to have no more than 75 new Covid-19 cases per 100,000 occupants for the last 14 days.
Last week in the US, new Coronavirus cases were on average more than 152,000 a day, turning the clock back to the end of January, and the number of Covid-19 patients who were hospitalized were around 85,000, numbers were not seen since the beginning of February.
The death of the US Coronavirus has more than 1,200 a day for several days, seven times higher than in early July.
