Patna: Health Minister Mangal Pandey said on Wednesday that the department had developed a strategy to prioritize family planning even during Covid-19 pandemics.
Mission Parivar Vikas will run throughout the state until January 29 to educate people about family planning, he added.
The source claims that some contact campaigns will be held from 10 to 16 January, and family planning services are offered from January 17 to 29 as part of the mission.
Pandey added that the Ministry of Health officials had been directed to compile a list of beneficiaries that qualified through the couple contact campaign between 10 and January 16.
“The responsibility for compiling the list has been delegated to accredited social health activists and auxiliary nurse midwives.
The involvement of men in the family planning will be emphasized throughout the campaign, which will run until January 29,” he added.
Mission Parivar Vikas Abhiyan will be carried out in all medical colleges, hospitals and public health institutions.
The couples who are interested and qualify will also be encouraged to adopt temporary and permanent family planning measures during the campaign.
“Health experts will increase public awareness and talk about appropriate age to get married, the first child after at least two years of marriage, a three-year gap between two children, and permanent and temporary steps in the campaign,” Pandey said.
According to sources, the main goal of Mission Parivar Vikas is to increase access to high-quality family planning options based on reliable information, services and inventory in rights-based frameworks.
