New Delhi: The Ministry of Houses Union on Monday said that the FCRA extension application from the Amal Missionary (MOC) founded by Bunda Teresa was rejected on December 25 because it did not meet certain feasibility conditions.
The FCRA or Foreign Contribution Law (Regulation), 2010 provides a legal mechanism to handle violations of its provisions by NGOs.
The ministry says that some “adverse input” is noticed because the MOC application is not updated further.
Mha said it did not accept the revised application of the MOC who asked for a review of its decision.
However, the ministry clarified that the government had not freezed the Bank Moc account, added that the organization itself sent a request to the Indian state bank to suspend his account.
Previously, West Bengal Bengal Minister Mamata Banerjee had stated shock for the move to freeze charitable accounts founded by Mother Teresa in 1950.
“Surprised to hear it at Christmas, the Ministry of Union raised all charity charity accounts in India! 22,000 patients & their employees Leave without food & medicine, “he tweeted.
“While the law is the most important, humanitarian efforts should not be compromised,” added Banerjee.
