Guwahati: In the Karbi Mineral Army District, the fifth coal field will soon be found when the Directorate of Geology and Mining (DGM), Assam, has reached the final stages of drilling before getting access to coal layers in the Klurdung located in Medan which is difficult to surrounded by Forest.
Since 1980, four coal fields have been found in Anglong carriage and Dima Haso District where it is estimated that 2 million coal shares lie.
Reaching coal layers in Klurdung, which seems to be near, will be a milestone and will enrich the country’s exprouer and carriicch of the autonomy council (KAAC).
The coal auction process has begun by the Coal Ministry in the Coiljan coal and Garaman found previously.
“Until now, we have drilled 59 meters in Klurdung and hopes to get a coal layer in this area soon.
Our team has reached carbon material, which shows the existence of a coal layer below it,” Barnalam Nath, Joint Director in DGM, Assam.
He told me that some other drilling would be carried out in the area later and if satisfied, a comprehensive report would be carried out, mentioning coal quality, details of deposits and drilling data.
“In 2017-18, we first conducted a survey in the Klurdung area.
Next, we started drilling here in 2018-19 after getting instructions for the availability of coal.
In 2019-20, we cannot carry out drilling because of the Covid situation.
At 2020 -21, we should go through drilling but because employees are involved in the assignment of elections, it cannot be accelerated, “said Nath.
In 2021-22, the work returned again with drilling and finally the team had reached a stage where they believed in the presence of coal layers.
In Klurdung, there was no such exploration that occurred before and drilling officials said at least five years were needed to complete exploration in the geological area.
“After drilling and mapping in the finished area, the geological report will be prepared.
Then, the area can be transferred to coal blocks or fields, after completing the necessary formalities,” said an official.
In Anglong carriocers, the distribution of coal layers is in a small bag.
After the publication of the geological report, it will be sent to the Coal Ministry and if needed, it will recommend work that needs to be completed before starting the auction process.
According to the norm, 40% income will enter the state state and 60% to KAAC.
