The fifth wave driven by Omicron has begun in Pakistan: Authority

Islamabad: Because the Coronavirus case continues to surge in the country, Pakistani authorities have warned that the fifth wave driven by Omicron has begun.
National Command and Operations Center, the main body that regulates the policies and implementation of Covid-19’s national efforts from Pakistan, held a meeting on Monday and discussed the epidemic curve graphics, national vaccine strategies and prevalence of diseases throughout the country after 708 cases were recorded in one day – The highest since October 30 when 733 infections were detected, international news reported.
The meeting also reviewed the spread of the disease and was revealed that “the fifth wave of Covid-19 driven by Omicron spread at a large speed.” During the last three days, NCOC said, the karachi’s front ratio had reached 2% to 6% with a maximum number of positive cases.
It urges people to get vaccinations, wear masks and keep social distance to avoid the spread of the fifth wave of Coronavirus.
It was shared that people who were vaccinated were less affected by Omicron.
The country recorded the highest number of Covid-19 cases in one day since October 30, because 708 infections were detected for the past 24 hours, NCOC data showed Monday.
Statistics issued by NCOC suggested that 45,643 diagnostic tests were carried out overnight, where 708 people were tested positive for the Coronavirus.
The latest infection encourages the country’s front ratio to 1.55%.
Meanwhile, two patients gave up on the virus for the past 24 hours, took the calculation of national death to 28.943, while 144 patients were restored, which placed a total recovery amount at 1,257,168.
