Alexandria: The leading media figure of Islamic countries and foreign fighters has been charged in the United States Federal Court in Virginia by conspiring to provide material support to terrorist organizations which resulted in death, said Federal Official on Saturday.
Mohammed Khalifa, a Canadian citizen born in Saudi who is a leading figure in the Islamic State Iraq, arrested abroad by Syrian democracy forces in January 2019, said Federal Officials.
He was recently transferred to the FBI custody, at which point he was first taken to the Eastern District of Virginia.
“As allegedly, Mohammed Khalifa not only struggled for Isis on the battlefield in Syria, but he also voices behind violence,” said Raj Parekh, acting on us lawyers in the Eastern District of Virginia.
“Through alleged role in translating, telling and advancing ISIS’s online propaganda, Khalifa promoted terrorist groups, continuing recruitment efforts around the world, and expanding the range of videos that glorify terrible murder and indiscriminately.” Khalifa served in a prominent role in ISIS starting in 2013 and continued to his arrest by SDF in January 2019 following a shootout between Islamic and SDF fighter.
In addition to allegedly serving as an Islamic state fighters, Khalifa allegedly served as the main translator in the production of group propaganda and English-language narrators in several video violent recruitment.
