Hyderabad: In the steps that will add to the original Covid-19 vaccine supply, Bharat Biotech (BB) on Sunday announced the launch of the first commercial batch of the vaccine from the Chironhwar vaccine facility in Gujarat.
Inventories from Ankleshwar facilities will begin from September 2021.
Commercial Covaxin batch launched by Mansukh Mandaviya Health Minister at the facility.
“The new filling facility, which was built during 2020 in Ankleshwar, is now used for Covaxin production.
Covaxin production began in early June, before that the team had executed the batch of techniques to study equipment functionality at the facility,” BB said in a statement.
