PATIALA: The first mount-based BIO-CNG factory has started rice straw collection from agricultural fields from the surrounding villages even when the plant commissioning is expected for January 2022.
Officials at the Biogas Factory (CBG) compressed in Bhutal Village Kalan Lehagaga in Sangrur Collect about 10,000 MT of rice straw for their operations to produce biogas and manure.
This factory is one of the largest CBG factories that will produce more than 33 tons of CBG or BIO-CNG per day and be able to collect and utilize more than 1 lakh tons of rice residues every year.
However, after the late harvest this year due to the time before the time, the authorities at the CBG plant were forced to collect rice straw from the area that fell in a radius of more than 20 km against a radius plan of 10 to 15 km.
Ashish Kumar, CEO on the CBG Plant, said, “We have a target to collect 30,000 mt of rice residues this year and we will achieve it easily because we have collected 10,000 to 15,000 mt of rice straw.
We collect rice stumps for operation during this year while stumps wheat can also be collected in April-May.
Commissioning will be in January 2022.
We will collect stumps from a radius of 10 to 15 km from our factory, but because of the delay for harvest this time, we have to collect stumps from the villages above 25 km.
We have all the straw collectors owned by the company with an investment of Rs 12 Crore.
Next year, more machines will be purchased.
These machines are operated by staff, around 60 numbers, employed by companies for the collection of stumps and round bales each each weighing 450 kg was stacked.
“Experts have bluffed that farmers in the area prefer to burn straw pa In they instead of waiting for their beard collection by CBG plants.
The farmers claimed that they were waiting to sow wheat plants since mid-November but rice harvesting was delayed.
The leader of the farmer in Bhutal Village Kalan claimed that around 50% of rice was harvested in their village when the rain had hit the rice harvest.
BKU (ETTA UgraDan) Block Leader Harjit Singh Bhola said, “The window between rice harvest and sowing the next plant, wheat, too short now and farmers don’t prefer to wait long to accommodate biogas plants.
Biogas factory initiatives to collect the cost free of charge from farmers Praised, but because of the rain and late harvesting this year, farmers will burn stumps rather than leaving it for biogas factories or combining into fields for decomposition.
In addition, some farmers reveal that the factory owner only collects dry stumps, but at this time the moisture is high after Late harvesting.
“After Bhutal Kalan, the CBG factory at Fatehgarh Sahib and Khanna (Ludhiana) will operate and will produce 2.25 tons and 12 tons of CBG, respectively.
In Punjab, setting 23 CBG plants are in pipes up to 2023-24, and all CBG plants will collectively utilize almost 9 lakh tons of rice.
Secretary of PPCB member Karunesh Garg said, “Under the management of the former state government, the biogas plant has begun to collect rice residues.
We do a lot of effort by creating awareness among farmers.
Recently, we launched the Green Brigade from Punjabi University for Awareness.
We hope the area under the fire will decrease again this year.
