Rare cases of human monykox detected in Texas, control centers and disease prevention (CDC) said on Friday, making it the first case of the virus seen in the state.
Viral diseases were found in US residents, who have recently traveled from Nigeria to the United States and are currently hospitalized in Dallas.
“While rare, this case is not a reason for alarms and we do not expect a threat to the general public,” Judge Dallas County Jenkins said.
In addition to Nigeria, the outbreak has also been reported in Central and Western African countries since 1970, with a great outbreak in people in the United States in 2003, according to the CDC.
CDC said it was working with airline officials, state and local health to contact passengers and other people who might be related to patients.
Monkeypox, which is included in the same viral family with smallpox, is a rare but potentially serious viral disease that usually starts with symptoms and swelling such as flu, lymph nodes, gradually developing into a rash that is widespread on the face and body.
It can spread from people to people through breathing droplets.
CDC said since tourists wearing masks because of Covid-19, the risk of spreading MonkeyPox through respiratory droplets to others on the plane and at the low airport.
Infected patients are most commonly found tensions in parts of West Africa, including Nigeria, added CDC.
There are at least six monkeypox cases reported in travelers who returned from Nigeria, before the current case, including in the UK, Israel and Singapore, according to the CDC.
The last case was not related to previous cases
