New Delhi: Covaxin’s first commercial batch was released on Sundays from the new Bharat Biotech factory in Ankleshwar in the Bharuch Gujarat district by the Mavaviya Union Health Minister.

The government has earlier this month giving approval to the manufacturing plant based on Ankleshwar Bharat Biotech to produce anti-covid-19 covaxin vaccines.
In May, Bharat Biotech announced that it was planning to produce an additional 200 million covaxin doses at ankleshwar-based facilities for subsidiaries.
The Hyderabad-based company has noted that it will utilize its fully owned unit manufacturing factory, Chiron Behring, to add 200 million other covaxin doses.
