New Orleans: The Sheriff Louisiana office on Sunday reported the first death of the Ida storm was only hours after a strong storm slammed into land.
The Office of the Ascension Parish Sheriff said on Facebook that deputies responded to someone’s reports injured by fallen trees in a house in Prairieville confirmed the death of the person.
Prairieville is the suburb of Baton Rouge, the capital city of Louisiana.
Facebook post does not include the person’s name or other details.
