The first dose for 7L despite lack of vaccines: NMMC

Navi Mumbai: NMMC has vaccassed seven lakh people with the first dose of Covid vaccine and 2.37 lakh with the second, since the campaign began on January 16.
He added 17 vaccination centers to 74.
The Civic body hopes to facilitate more than 100 centers after the vaccine that is sufficiently arrived.
NMMC said more than 65% of the eligible population that needed to be vaccinated according to the protocol had been given the first dose, while 22% got the second.
“We have a 10.8 lakh population which is above 18.
The population is 15 lakh.
We are arranged with adequate centers to cover the entire lot in a few days provided by vaccines available,” said Civil Head Abhijit Bangar.
The 18-44 age group formed the main chunk with around 3.7 lakh people who were vaccinated with the first dose, while 26,000 were given the second dose.
Until now, more than 9.39 lakh doses have been given to residents in the NMMC area.
More emphasis will be given to people over 45, which are found vulnerable to infection.
A total of 83,000 people over 60 have received the first dose, and 65,000 got the second, which was done on priority, said NMMC officials.
But most health workers and front lines will not come in taking the second dose.
