The first dose for all over 18 years before September-end: Minister of Health Kerala Veena George

Thiruvananthapuram: Health Minister Veena George said the government had set a target to cover everyone over 18 years with the first dose of vaccination before the end.
For this, the center has promised to provide the number of vaccines needed.
So far 52% of people in this category have received the first dose vaccination and 19% of people have received both doses.
This center now provides a regular vaccine and hence the vaccination process runs smoothly in the state, the Minister of Health said.
The country is all regulated to start vaccination for children under 18 years.
“The Minister of Health of the Union, who is in the state for discussion, has convinced us all support to cover the entire population with the first dose of vaccination.
For this Minister has promised that the state will be given the top priority in getting a vaccine,” Veena said.
As part of an increase in vaccination process, the State Health Department with a pilot base introduced vaccination ‘driving through’ in Thiruvananthapuram since Thursday.
The vaccination center is arranged in women’s college, Thiruvananthapuram, will provide vaccination all the time for people who come on vehicles.
This facility has been launched in such a way that people who come for vaccination can register, get Jab and continue to observe for half an hour without getting out of their vehicle.
The minister who visited the Drive-Through vaccination center and interacted with people said if this encouragement was found success here, then more such centers would be introduced in other districts too.
Having a break on Thiruvonam: KGMoathe Kerala Petical Medical Association (KGMOA) has urged the state government to break for vaccination on Thiruvonam days.
Association said this would be beneficial for health workers who were at the forefront of a fight for one and a half years.
Vaccination must be limited to large hospitals during vacation onam.
This will provide assistance to health workers, the association leaders said in a letter given to the Minister of Health.
