Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala has given the first dose of Covid-19 vaccine to 81.9 percent of the targeted population until September 17 while 33.4 percent received the second dose, the Minister of Health Veena George said on Friday.
The Minister said more than 95 percent of people over the age of 45 had received the first dose of vaccines, while 54 percent in the same category also received the second dose.
George, in the release, said that during the period between 8 to 14 September, an average of 2,25,022 patients under the supervision of which only two percent of oxygen beds were needed while only one percent of the ICU bed needed.
“During the same time, there was a reduction of 42,998 cases compared to the previous week.
TPR has been reduced by six percent.
Those who have comorbidity must carry out nurscorts from the hospital,” added the minister.
George said six percent of those affected by Covid-19 during June, July and August had taken the first dose of Covid vaccine, while 3.6 percent of them had received the dose.
“This shows that those who have been vaccinated can also be infected with minerals.
So those who have comorbidity must take extra precautions,” he added.
Kerala today reported 23,260 new positive cases and 131 deaths related to Covid-19, took Caseload to 44.69,488 and the death toll became 23,296.
