Kochi: A young woman from Thrissur pursues his childhood dream of being a doctor in medical college in Wuhan, like more than his home country.
Then the unthinkable happened – he became patient, the first person in India to test the positive Covid detected in the city of China.
It was two years ago: January 30, 2020.
But he had moved.
He wants to return to Wuhan to complete his course.
“We believe Covid can be managed now.
What is uncertain is my daughter’s career,” his father said.
It was an uncertain age too when he ran out of Wuhan when the virus exploded in humanity.
He arrived at home about a week before he tested positive, almost escaping from the strict Chinese steps because Wuhan and the international border was sealed to stop infection so as not to slip into the community.
He doesn’t want to remember his trials, or reminded it.
In the past two years, he studied remotely from home.
He completed the MBBS Online Course last December and passed the exam.
But he had to go back to college because of the rules of China’s mandate that MBBS students conducted internships in-people 52 weeks – the equivalent of a home surgeon – in hospital after the last year graduated.
This is a must to get a degree.
“We asked the center to take problems with the Chinese authority for Indian medicine students who studied there,” he added his father.
He said he didn’t want to talk about the past.
“What are our problems now and their future.”
