Jaipur: Polling for the first phase of Zilla Parishad and Panchayat Samiti elections in Alwar and Dholpur Regency will be held on October 20, the State Election Commission (SEC) said on Tuesday.
In the first phase, 683 candidates were in a commotion for 153 wards seven Panchayat Samitis.
A total of 1,263 voting stations were set for elections, said Commissioner of the Election of State P s Mehra.
More than 9.41 Lakh voters will be able to use their franchise in two districts.
Of this number, 4.98 lakh was a man and 4.43 lakh was a woman, he said.
SEC and district administration have completed all preparations for free, fair and peaceful voting in accordance with Covid-19 guidelines, he added.
The election of Zilla Parishad and Panchayat Samiti in Alwar and Dholpur will be carried out in three phases.
Voting for the second and third phase each will be held on October 23 and October 26.
Vote counting will be carried out at the District Head Office on October 29.
