Panaji: Chairman of the Minister of Pramod Sawant on Monday said that the first phase of the Bridge Zuari Zuari will be completed on April 30.
He said the first package of a stretch from Bambolim to the Zuari Bridge will be opened to the public after December 30.
“After the completion of the first phase, the third package that stretches from the Zuari Bridge to Verna will be opened to the public,” he said.
Sawant said that work on stretching from Bambolim to Zuari Bridge was almost completed while on the Zuari Bridge to Verna Stretch approached the completion.
He also said that three previous Zuari bridge packages were estimated to cost 1,400 crore rs, but because of the pandemic, the project costs have increased to Rs 1,800 Crore.
He also said that the qualifying request floated for the construction of the Observatory Tower and Watch Gallery, and immediately the foundation stone would be placed for this project in the hands of the Union Minister Nitin Gadkari.
Recognizing the difficulties faced by people because of traffic congestion, Sawant said, “so the bridge was thrown into the public, it would be a smooth flow”.
