Kolkata: The Council for the Indian School Certificate Exam (CISCE) has postponed the first semester exam and the ISC 2021-2022 exam, which was originally scheduled to start on November 15.
A circular announced this, was issued by the Head of the Executive Board and Secretary of Gerry Arathoon, reaching the principal on Tuesday, said the decision was taken because of “reasons beyond our control”.
The revised schedule will be announced “in time”, according to the round.
The decision came a day after CBSE stated the board exam schedule offline the first term: from November 30 for class X and from December 1 for class XII.
While the CBSE exam will be offline, the Board has provided options for parents on the ICSE and ISC exams, which will be held two weeks before the CBSE exam.
Most students choose to test online from home, and parents do not give approval to conduct examinations from school, the principal confirmed.
The principal, students and parents said they were disappointed, because they were far away to prepare an online board examination “application-based”.
The Principal said that at the beginning of the night, a circle had arrived, said that training for Proctors, which was supposed to occur on Tuesday morning and had been postponed, rescheduled to Wednesday.
The Principal said they were waiting for a meeting that the Board had been scheduled for October 21, where application-based online-based exam modalities would be discussed.
“The delay at the stage when the examination slightly more than three weeks is difficult, when we have prepared so hard by choosing a probator, getting detail from students about the device they will use,” said a staple.
The other school principal said, “You can’t have two boards done two different things in Covid situations.
If children from one board can come to school to write a test, why can’t other boards do it?” A student argued that the delay was thinking It means that the school will take advantage of the time to rush with the second semester syllabus, which will distract them from revising the first semester syllabus.
