The first time in Telangana, the gay couple said ‘I did’

Hyderabad: I do it! said a gay couple who made their relationship officials in a private ceremony held on the outskirts of the city on December 18.
At the time of illegal gay marriage in India, the couple held a ‘promising ceremony’ where they exchanged rings and oaths and celebrated their unity with almost 60 families and close friends.
Wearing a white tux, Supriyo Chakraborty (31) and Abhay Dange (34) considering their eight-year relations at the ceremony.
“For weddings, we walked down the hall and exchanged and rings.
After the event, the best men’s speech was delivered,” Chakraborty said.
Their ceremony was inaugurated by Sophia David, a friend who was also part of the LGBTQ community in Hyderabad.
Although there is no marital ritual or formality involved, the couple brings together the tradition of Bengali and Punjabi.
“Mehendi is always a woman-centric ceremony.
We want to break the stereotype by holding the same for all men in the venue.
During Haldi, we wear Bengali Topor (headgear).
Furthermore, the Sangeet function was held where the show was given,” said Chakraborty .
Even when Indian law does not recognize their relationship as a husband and husband, the couple calls themselves ‘soulmates’.
“Since we stated our union, we have received a variety of reactions from people.
In general, people have greatly supported our relationship and this ceremony is only the same celebration,” Chakraborty said.
