Hyderabad: Health Authority in Telangana on Monday said they were forced to suspend the first dose of Covid-19 vaccine after the inventory of the center dried a few days ago.
Feeling the shortcomings, the authority was directed to manage only the second dose last week and the first timer was asked to wait.
The state has 80 Lakh beneficiaries who have not received their first jab when pandemic experts have emphasized that the vaccine is the only weapon against the virus along with the corresponding behavior of Covid.
“The only weapon we have today is a vaccine, even if there is no surge in cases in any area, taking an important vaccine to prevent serious illness and hospitalization,” said Professor Shashank Tripathi, Indian Science Institute, Bengaluru.
People are asked to check the availability of vaccine doses before venturing into the middle of wherever for the first dose.
On Monday, 20,000 Jabs were a little given in Hyderabad and 1.47 lakh doses throughout the state, reflecting a bad situation.
Across from Hyderabad, many are looking for the first dose back to the decepted house.
“I went to the vaccination center in Amberpet, but I could not get a dose,” said Sk Vali, a 45-year-old private employee who hoped to get his first dose.
In some downtown, the second dose of Covaxin is also not available in the last few days.
“But we give the first and second dose to students, who go abroad for education,” said a top official.
With the urban primary health care center (UPHCS) only manages the second dose in the last few days, the guidelines about the drive vaccine have stopped.
Some experts say people’s preferences to visit government vaccine centers for private centers also cause more shortcomings.
The election in private hospitals has dropped 80 percent compared to the days when the state government opened a free drive for all age groups.
“Practically no rush in private centers, those who are able to pay fees but want to be vaccinated immediately visit the center of the private vaccine,” Top Private Hospital Manager to Tii.
Experts suggest better to take at least one dose of vaccines wherever it is available.
