Navi Mumbai: In a good development for the environment, Raigad District Collectorate has stated in its formal reply to the National Green Tribunal (NGT) that all of the gates of saliva and other blockages at Panje in Uran have been opened so there is a free stream of tidal water to the region .
Green activists, who previously submitted a petition before NGT on the issue of Wetland Panje, had welcomed this development as before there was a danger of the Panje site that dried up due to certain blockages.
Activists in their campaign to save 289 hectares Panje Wetland has emphasized a few points from eco worries at NGT.
Record complaints from Shri Ekvira Aai Prartism and Natconnect Foundation, Raigad collector Dr.
Mahendra Kalyankar has told NGT that now there is no water blockage.
