The forest department to conduct a tree & shrub survey in 6 Hry districts starting today

Gurgaon: The Ministry of Forestry will conduct a two-month survey against Flora from six districts in South Haryana on Wednesday.
The results will be released in the first week of December.
In the survey, tree information and bush species in Aravalis will be collected because there are many endangered and rare plant species here which have not been recorded so far, forest officials said.
The decision was revealed at the meeting held in the city on Tuesday between the Haryana Biodiversity Council Haryana (HSBB), the Ministry of Forestry and environmental experts to discuss strategies for a 12-year action plan to preserve the country’s biodiversity.
“We will choose routes for trekking in Aravalis, where we will record plant species from the area.
We will start a survey from Wednesday in Gurgaon,” said Vasavi Tagyi, Head of Forest Conservator (Haryana Selatan).
The forest corridor also gave birth to the remnants of dry decryaries and original thorn scrubs adjacent in Delhi-NCR.
The survey will be conducted in six districts – Gurgaon, Faridabad, Noah, Palwal, Rewari and Mahendergarh.
“We will do such exercises until the end of November.
We cannot record bushes in December because they generally die from Frost,” Tyagi told Toi.
The Chairperson of HSBB Vineet Garg said the survey would be very important for the formulation of biodiversity plans.
“This exercise is very important to identify flora in the area so that conservation plans can be developed,” he said.
Members of the Wildlife Institute of India and Natural History Bombay were also present in Tuesday’s discussion.
It was decided that the existing plant species, wildlife and plants found in the region would be identified and pressure on biodiversity would be analyzed.
“This is the last and last workshop for the action plan strategy.
We have done workshops in the district in East Haryana, West and North.
We will complete the action plan on March 202,” he added.
The focus is also on the preservation of traditional and local knowledge about flora and fauna.
The meadow ecosystem in the south of Haryana is also discussed, and experts emphasize the need for their conservation.
Tyagi said some species of plants that were not from the area were seen in the Rithoj Aravali Rithoj area during the recent plantation trip in the area.
“Thus, the Forestry Department decided to conduct a small survey in Aravalis to identify rare species in the region,” he said.
Diospyros Melanoxylon (Tendu) is one species found.
Asli to India and Sri Lanka, flowering trees have hard bark.
Urens Sterculia (Tragacanth India), small to medium trees commonly found in North and Central India, are also seen in Aravalis.
Natural gum, known as Karaya Gum, emitted by a tree when the skin is broken.
This gum is mainly used as a thickener of cosmetics and drugs.
Other species are seen including Serratifolia (Arani) Prema and Orixense Hymenodictyon (Bhormal).
The Arani bush mostly grows in moist sandy soil and rubbing forests along seacast and mangrove forests.
Meanwhile, bhormal trees were found in Indian and East Asian continents.
This tree wood is soft and has limited use, mostly for boxes.
